Applelux Refund and Returns Policy

This Policy forms part of the Applelux Customer Terms and Conditions, and thus, words defined in the Terms and Conditions carry the same meaning in this Policy, unless the context indicates otherwise. Nothing in this Policy is intended to limit your statutory rights in any way.

This Policy outlines the processes and terms regarding returns, refunds, and exchanges for purchases made through the Applelux website or store.

1. General Terms

You may return any product within 7 days of purchase from the Applelux Website if:

  • The item is not as described.
  • The Applelux Product(s) is defective or has a technical fault.
  • You have concerns about the quality of the product (the “Return Product”).

2. Exclusions from Return

A product cannot be returned if any of the following conditions apply:

  • The product has been physically altered.
  • Accidental damage has occurred.
  • Evidence of abuse, negligence, or user tampering/error is found.
  • The product shows damage due to lightning, water, infestation, or other external factors.
  • Liquid damage, cracked screens, or visible signs of impact or physical damage.
  • Incorrect or incompatible components, such as power cords, chargers, or factory-fitted plugs, were used with the Applelux product.
  • The product shows wear and tear or damage resulting from misuse or external conditions.

3. Unwanted Products and Incorrect Online Purchases

You can return an unwanted product to Applelux within 7 days if:

  • The item is brand new, unopened, undamaged, and unused, with the original labels and stickers still attached.
  • A Certified Pre-Owned product is in the original packaging, undamaged, and in its original condition, with all seals intact (if applicable).
  • The product is not missing any accessories or parts.
  • The cancellation is done within the “cooling-off” period of seven (7) days after responding to direct marketing.
  • The return is logged within 7 days of delivery or collection, and the product is returned together with the invoice.

4. Defective Products and Returns after 7 Days

After the 7-day period, you can only return a product if it is defective according to Section 44 of the Consumer Protection Act (CPA). This means you can return the product for repair or replacement within the first 6 (six) months of purchase, as per our Returns Policy.

5. Product Inspections and Exchange Conditions

All returned products are subject to inspection by Applelux before any repair, exchange, or refund is processed. Once the returned device is booked in for assessment and Applelux confirms your claim, the following options are available:

  • Repair: If the issue is repairable and falls within warranty coverage.
  • Exchange: Applelux may offer an exchange or store credit, depending on the assessment results. Refunds are not offered under normal circumstances. If a refund is necessary, Applelux may assist by reselling the device subject to its market value and condition.

6. Rectification of Software Issues

If you request a return or refund but no fault is found, or the reported fault is related to software that can be rectified, Applelux will take the necessary steps to fix the issue and return the product to you in good working order.

7. Exchange Process

You may opt to exchange a returned product for another product (the “Exchange Product”) of the same value as the returned product. If the exchange product is of higher value, you will be required to pay the difference. If the exchange product is of lower value, Applelux will refund the balance to your original method of payment.

8. Handling Fees

Applelux may charge a handling fee of up to 20% (twenty percent) if the packaging is opened, damaged, or tampered with, or if the product or any components are missing or not in their original condition. If any items are missing from the returned package, the additional value will be charged accordingly.

9. Collection Fees

Applelux may charge a collection fee of R250 for facilitating the collection of a returned product, applicable to online purchases. However, this fee will not be charged if the product is found to be faulty.
